Reditux-Rituximab
Reditux contains rituximab and belongs to a class of medications known as antineoplastic agents.
Indication
Reditux may be used alone or in combination with other drugs for the treatment of non-hodgkin's lymphoma.
Reditux may also be used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
Mechanism of action
Reditux interferes with cancer cells, stops their multiplication and spread in the body.
Supplied as
Reditux is available as 100mg and 500mg single dose vial.
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose associated with reditux may include pale skin, shortness of breath, heart problems (heart attack, irregular heartbeat, and low blood pressure), itching, rashes, swelling, dizziness, and chest pain.
Precautions & Warnings
Reditux should not be taken without consulting your doctor if you have heart disease or lung problems.
Reditux should not be given to patients who have dangerously low white blood cell counts because of the risk for serious infections.
Do not take reditux if you are allergic to it or to any ingredient in reditux, if you have blood disorders (e. G. Thrombocytopenia), heart problems (heart attack, irregular heartbeat, and low blood pressure), and if you have herpes, hepatitis or chickenpox.
Do not take reditux without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant.
Drug Interactions
The following drugs may interact with reditux:
The antitumor activity of reditux may be increased with the combination of immunomodulatory drugs.
The side effects of reditux may be increased by other anti-cancer drugs, drugs for high blood pressure (e. G. , enalapril, metoprolol, verapamil), immunizations (e. G. , oral polio, measles vaccines).
Side effects
The side effects associated with reditux are headache, nausea, swelling of face, dizziness, decrease in amount of urine, fever, chills, pain at the tumor site, chest pain, cough,flushing, sweating, mental or mood, chest pain, shortness of breath, black stool, vomiting or skin changes hair loss (alopecia), numbness, tingling, or burning of hands and feet (sensory neuropathy), fatigue and weakness (asthenia), mouth or lip sores (mucositis), low blood pressure (hypotension), diarrhea, joint and muscle pain etc.
