INTAXEL-PACLITAXEL
Intaxel is mainly used for treating breast cancer, lung and ovarian cancer. The medicine contains Paclitaxel and belongs to a class of drugs known as taxanes. It is also widely used for treating AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma. This medicine also efficiently arrests the growth of cancer cells in the body.

Mechanism of Action
Paclitaxel interferes with the growth of cancer cells, slows their growth and spread in the body.

Supplied as:
Available as 30mg, 100mg & 260mg vial

Dosage:
The recommended dose is usually every 3 weeks

Overdose:
Symptoms of overdose are numbness or tingling, fever, chills, mouth sores, unusual bleeding or weakness, or any signs of infection.

Precautions & Warnings:
  • Doctor consultation required of the patient has heart, kidney or lung problem
  • Not recommended for patients who are allergic to the medicine or its constituents
  • Not recommended for pregnant women
Side Effects:
  • Decrease of blood cells
  • Numbness, tingling or burning of hands and feet
  • Increased blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision, buzzing in your ears, anxiety, confusion, chest pain and shortness of breath, uneven heartbeats)
  • Seizure, pale skin and unusual weakness
  • Fever, chills, body aches and flu symptoms
  • Joint and muscle pain, swelling, redness, skin color, mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or hair loss
